RAYMOND Jean-Marie

Jean-Marie Raymond studied the classical guitar at l'École Normale de Musique de Paris in the classes of Javier Hinojosa and Alberto Ponce. With Yvonne Desportes he studied compostion, and with Désiré Dondeyne conducting. The CNR d'Aubervilliers-la-Courneuve awarded him the Médaille d'Or de Guitare Classique; he also obtained a Diplôme d'État and a Certificat d'Aptitude. His career brought him to devote himself to teaching (Direction of the Viry-Chatillon Conservatory) to activities such as playing, composing and directing. In 1977, he appeared as a soloist with the Orchestre de Paris under the direction of Seiji Osawa, and went in 1979, on tours in the USA where he played notably for the NBC channel. A record, "Guitare à quatre mains", was produced with his friend Minoru Inagaki by B.N.L, and well met by the public. He founded and now directs l'Ensemble Instrumental de la Vallée de Chevreuse (concerts in France, tour in Quebec in 1989) for which he has carried out an important repertoire.
