I've listened to, and indeed played through several guitar compositions by this French composer previously and as far as I can recall, this is the only guitar duet amongst them.
À La Lumiere de L'Aube is an immediately catchy little item, full of buoyancy with a dash of humour infused occasionally. A nice, albeit brief, interlude with the mood changing to a more sorrowful texture comes very near to the end before the optimistic original tune returns. Just prior to this arrival of the first melody there is an interesting rhythmic variation - very short-lived, unfortunately - with triplet crotchets played against quavers. This occurs once more at the very end, a very catchy feature which strangely the composer and the dedicatee of the piece, Minoru Inagaki, omit on their recording of this work.
A little one-sided with guitar 1 having the majority of the melodic interest this would be an ideal candidate for the Intermediate duo looking for an encore item perhaps.
Comes with complete score and separate parts for both players.
