Marines (CD inclus)

Marines consists of six parts, all titled, and each one being quite a pleasant affair. Demillac writes well at this level of technical ability around the Intermediate standard; the music is instantly likeable with its pleasant melody lines quite suggestive of Francis Kleynjans' style and good harmonisations.
Towards the end of the set there is a lovely little Baroque-style dance-like movement titled In the Waves which is probably the «hit« of the album and well worthy of standing alone, but if the complete «suite« is performed in its entirety, perhaps this one should go last. The edition is well produced and could be quite a good one to consider for any informal concert, etc. The edition comes with a CD of all the contents played very capably and convincingly by the Canadian guitarist, David Jacques.
