Para une Flete tends to be of one «character« throughout its length. However, this is not to say that it is not worthy of consideration by any upper intermediate player. It is still a most delightful piece of writing for the instrument and shows Cardoso to be an inventive and entertaining composer. The work explores and exploits the attractiveness of cross-rhythms to good effect, and indeed it is this rhythmical aspect more than the lyrical nature of the composition which makes it work so effectively as a solo guitar piece.
I cannot imagine Para une Flete having the impact of the former Milonga, but still, it has something about it that makes one sit up and listen. Steve Marsh (Classical Guitar Magazine)
