Concerto, no 9, RV 230

This work was originally for solo violin and strings and is presented in its original key of D. Vingiano has made a perfectly reasonable realisation of this work and most of this will be accessible and appealing to upper grade players if they are prepared to work quite hard at one or two less grateful moments. Being of quite good length over its three movements (.) it offers the opportunity to work on a larger musical canvas and a freer structure than is usually the case with baroque suites.(.) as it stands it works as a performance item.
