Petite Marie

Petite Marie is one of French Singer/songwriter Francis Cabrel's most popular compositions and takes the form of a love song. The melody, as one would expect is very attractive and Raymond has done his usual splendid job in fitting this piece onto solo guitar. Although this work explores the fingerboard from position 1 through to 7, everything falls nicely under the fingers (with the exception of a couple of stretches) and the best possible compliment I could pay to the arranger is that Petite Marie sounds as if it were written for the solo guitar. The presentation is very good, as is the useful fingering and this piece would make excellent material for restaurants, hotels, etc.
