Great fun! Loosely built around Irish and Irish-sounding themes this is a great joy to play. The parts are fairly evenly distributed with plenty to do to keep all happily involved in the proceedings. The work opens with a solo strain which will be familiar to all, then a change from two-four time to six-eight gives a quickening of the pulse and away we go! There is a reaIly good percussion section, which comes off well when played with conviction. This is the sort of piece which can be confidently tackled by those of approximately grade four upwards, taking nimble fingers playing over a wide fingerbaard range and a flexible technique to change the textures when appropriate. Another item from this publisher who seems to have an endless line of worthwhile pieces to produce. John Arran (Classical Guitar Magazine)
