Peter Wrieden was born in 1972 in London (UK). He first started playing guitar at the age of 10 and then went on to study at Exeter University gaining a B.Mus. Honours Degree in 1993 specialising in composition with Professor Philip Grange, analysis and performance. In 1994 his work for mixed ensemble 'In my Craft or Sullen Art' (mezzo,bar,fl,cl,bsn,perc,vib,vln,vlc) was shortlisted by the SPNM for performance in their 1994/95 season. Later in 1998 he gained an associate diploma (ARCM) from the Royal College of Music in London for Classical Guitar Performance after studying with the Australian guitarist Craig Ogden in Manchester (UK). Peter has now been teaching in schools for over 13 years, been an examiner for the 'Rockschool' exam board since 2001, a lead moderator for 'Access to Music' courses, recently been appointed as a performance examiner for the 'OCR' exam board and is a regular performer both solo and ensemble. Peter has compositions published by Les Productions D'OZ, Chanterelle in an 'EGTA' publication 'Solo Now! Preparatory Book' and ABRSM publishing in 'Time Pieces - Vol. 2' with his piece 'The Acrobat' in the current Associated Board Guitar Syllabus, which has been recorded by Stephen Goss.
