Description
Award winning and one of the most popular contemporary polish guitar-composers, Marek Pasieczny studied at the Academy of Music in Wroclaw in Poland, and continued at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Scotland, U.K. - PGDip and MMus with distinction (guitar performance), PGDip (composition). Since the age of 15, he has composed over 100 works, arrangements and transcriptions for solo instruments, chamber ensembles, orchestra and choir. Invitations as a performer and composer to festivals have included Poland, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Greece, UK, Holland, Switzerland, South Africa and China. Premieres in such venues as: Lutoslawski's Hall, Warsaw/Poland, Royal Albert Hall and Wigmore Hall, London/UK; He Luting Hall and He Lv Ting Hall, Shanghai/China. He performed with orchestras such as: BBC Scotland, SBO and RSNO, Aukso, Vratislavia, Orkiestra Swietokrzyska. Since 2004 he has been publishing for PWM, Euterpe (Poland), Lathkill Music (U.K.) and Les Productions d'OZ (Canada). In 2002, he collaborated with world renowned jazz guitarist Pat Metheny.
