Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1960, Juan Gallino has graduated from the Manuel de Falla Music Conservatory. He carried out advanced studies with Marta Norese, Abel Carlevaro, Eduardo Fernández, Eduardo Castañera, Miguel Angel Girollet and Omar Cyrulnik. For 30 years he's been a part of the Guitar Duet Bocaccio-Gallino, enjoying national and international recognition. In 1993 they obtained the First Prize in the Classical Guitar Duo National Competition, Homage to the Maestro Jorge Martínez Zárate, promoted by the Secretarìa de cultura del a Naciòn. He obtained prizes in different Composition competitions organized by the Association Estimulo Cultural (1984) and has been finalist of the Composition competition Agustin Barrios in 1994 in Asunciòn, Paraguay. As composer his works have been published by Henry Lemoine and Chanterelle. He founded in 1999 www.guitarristas.com, the pioneering website of the guitar in Argentina. He teaches in the Manuel de Falla Music Conservatory, and in the Conservatory of the City of Buenos Aires Astor Piazzolla, establishments of the city of Buenos Aires. http://www.juangallino.com.arhttp://www.bocaccio-gallino.com
