BLOOR Yvonne

Yvonne Bloor is an English guitarist and composer. She has a Master of Music degree in Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music and is a Fellow of the Royal Schools of Music, a Licentiate of the Guildhall School of Music and the London College of Music. She studied with Nicola Hall, Michael Lewin, and Craig Ogden.

For many years she was a regular contributor to Guitar International Magazine writing articles on guitar playing.

She has worked as an examiner for Trinity Guildhall School of Music  and taught in numerous schools and colleges. She is currently guitar tutor at the University of Leicester. She has broadcast on BBC radio and played on TV in Antigua and the UK. She plays with orchestras and chamber music ensembles and has given performances at the Royal Festival Hall, London, the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester and De Montfort Hall, Leicester.

She has recorded two albums of her own music, “Promise” and “Evocation. Her compositions are described as: “mature, melodic, interestingly harmonised, lovely little pieces that come from the pen of a lady whose CD I have played a good number of times since reviewing it!’
