AU Darin

Darin Au is a composer, guitarist and educator born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. His composition for guitar ensemble, Chasing Dragons, received its world premiere at the Guitar Foundation of America Festival in 2000. It has become a standard in the guitar ensemble repertoire.  In 2021, the NAfME All-National Honor Guitar Ensemble, under the direction of Chuck Hulihan, recorded the world premiere video performance of Gävlebocken, a programmatic work. Darin is an active performer who plays rock, classical, and reggae music. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Redlands and earned his Master of Music degree in Composition from the University of North Texas.
