I sometimes have occasion to criticize Kleynjans' pieces for their lack of imagination and the inevitable sequences of notes or harmonies that one spots a mile off before you play them but he has written many a good piece and I am happy to report that this is one of them. It flows nicely along in an easy 6/8 with a beguiling little melody and some warm harmonies that, whilst never straying too far from their allotted key, do manage to avoid the blindingly obvious. There is nothing very difficult here, and as such many a player who can sustain a good flowing arpeggio up to 5th position will find this little piece most enjoyable to play. It is only tiny (1 min. 40 secs. approx.) but would go well in a little recital. Chris Dumigan
